Least successful project
While I do not consider myself an 'exemplary' art student, I try my best to create works that I am proud of. However, I feel I was least successful with the 'Look What I Can See Through' project. The main problem I have with my work is my use of the color white on my black paper. Whenever I drew parts of the toilet paper, I shaded lightly for the dark parts and the other way around for light parts. However, the darker parts of the toilet paper don't look convincing enough and stand out in a bad way to me. The table that the toilet paper was placed on wasn't colored in well and doesn't really look like a table. When it came to the main focus of the project: creating transparent material, I feel I did a decent job with conveying the idea of transparent wrapping. The white strokes over top of the toilet paper give the viewer an idea that something is over top of the roll. In the end, I believe that I could have benefitted from more self-imposed practice on drawing transparent material since I did not completely understand it from the practices we had in class.
